HDFC ERGO General Health Insurance Claim Process

Health insurance from HDFC Ergo can be claimed for cashless and reimbursement settlement. The process slightly differs from each other.

  • Cashless Claim: This claim can be availed only at a network hospital. The insured has to inform the insurer 72 hours before the hospitalisation in case of a planned treatment, and 24 hours before in case of an emergency hospitalisation. A pre-authorisation form has to be filled at the TPA desk in the hospital, and submitted along with the IF proof. The insurer, will convey its decision after a couple of hours. Once it is confirmed, the insured can take cashless facilities at the hospital, where the bills are settled directly by the insurer.
  • Reimbursement Claim: In case a cashless claim is rejected, the insured has to pay the hospital bills on his/her own and file a reimbursement claim later. A claim form duly filled has to be submitted along with the required claim documents. The bills and reports are to be submitted as well. After verifying the claim and documents, the insurer settles the claim accordingly. The claimed amount gets transferred to the insured’s account through NEFT.
