IFFCO Tokio Medical Insurance Policy Exclusions

The policy doesn’t offer coverage in case of below conditions:

  • If any suicide attempt is made by the insured or any self-inflicted injury directly or indirectly affecting, the insured medically is not covered.
  • Any injury or medical complication arising out of the war, terrorism, a nuclear attack will also not be covered.
  • If the insured is under the influence of any drug, alcohol, or any un-prescribed medicine which is prohibited by the medical department and there is any contingency caused to him under the mentioned influences, in this case, no claim will be provided by the insurance company.
  • Gastric and Duodenal ulcers are not covered in the policy.
  • Sexually transmitted diseases like AIDS, HIV are not covered.
  • Any hormonal replacement, obesity-related therapy or procedure done anywhere will not be included in the policy terms and conditions and hence not covered.
  • Any cost incurred by the insured on eyesight or hearing like contact lenses, spectacles of hearing aids will not be covered.
  • Surgery regarding genetic disorder stem cell implantation not covered.

How to Buy IFFCO Tokio Health Insurance?

Steps to follow to buy an IFFCO Tokio health insurance plan are:

  • Online Purchase of Policy

Step 1:  Visit the website and select the Health Insurance Tab.

Step 2: Select the desired plan and select the "buy" option.

Step 3: Fill in the personal details like name, DOB, residential address, mobile number, etc.

Step 4: Click on 'Submit,' and the 'health insurance quote generator' will appear.

Step 5: Fill the required details in the available form and calculate the premium to be paid.

Step 6: Enter other personal details and the exiting medical history.

Step 7: The last step is to make the payment using a Credit/Debit card or net banking.

Step 8: Once the payment is made, a soft copy of the policy will be immediately sent to the email address, and a hard copy will be shortly posted to the residential address.

How to File a Claim with IFFCO Tokio Health Insurance Plan?

There are two ways in which the insured can file a claim:

Cashless Claim

Step 1:  The insured needs to contact one of the nearby network hospitals given under the IFFCO Tokio Health Insurance Plan, and even for an unplanned hospitalization, he/she needs to inform the insurer 3 days prior admission into the hospital.

Step 2: A report needs to be filed with TPA or claim helpdesk of the hospital submitting his documents of the IFFCO Tokio Health Insurance Policy along with photographs, ID proof, health card, doctor, consultation and investigation reports, and a properly filled pre-authorization form.

Step 3: The documents will be further sent to the claim management team for approval after complete the verification of the documents.

Step 4: Approval for a cashless claim will come within 24 hours of the submission of documents, if all documents are accepted

Step 5:  The claim will be settled within 7 days of its application, and the insured will receive a confirmation either through or an email or a message that the insurance company has processed the claim.

Reimbursement Claim

Step 1: The insured can file for a reimbursement in case he is admitted to a non-network hospital

Step 2: A report needs to be filed directly with TPA or claim helpdesk of the hospital submitting his documents of the IFFCO Tokio Medical Insurance Policy along with his photographs, ID proof, health card, doctor, consultation, and investigation reports.

Step 3: The reimbursement form needs to be duly filled with all the correct details.

Step 4: The form, along with necessary documents, will be further sent for verification.

Step 5: The IFFCO Tokio claim management team will verify the details as per the norms and policies of the insurance company.

Step 6: An approval letter will be sent by the claim management team to acknowledge the receipt and verification of all documents and forms sent by the insured.

Step 7: A request can be made by the insured to claim the reimbursement within 7 days of its approval for his convenience.
