Exclusions of United India Health Insurance Plans

Medicare or health insurance plans do not cover the following exclusions:

  • Any pre-existing conditions within 48 months from commencement of the policy.
  • Any disease contracted by policyholder within 30 days of commencement of the policy.
  • Unless the individual has 24 months of coverage, expenses on treatment of diseases such as cataract, hernia, myoma, prolapse of uterus, piles, sinusitis, gout, rheumatism, etc. are not payable. Even after 24 months, the diseases mentioned above are not payable if they arise from a pre-existing condition.
  • Unless one has served 48 months waiting period, expenses related to the treatment of joint replacement, age-related osteoporosis or osteoarthritis is not payable.
  • Injury or disease directly or indirectly related to the war, invasion, act of foreign armies is not covered
  • Circumcision, vaccination, immunization, change of life or cosmetic or aesthetic treatments are not covered.
  • Correction of eyesight, plastic surgery, cost of spectacles, contact lenses, hearing aids, dental treatments, or surgeries are not covered.
  • Non-medical expenses for personal convenience such as telephone charges, private nursing services, toiletry items, sanitary pads, etc. are not covered.
  • Stem cell implantation or surgery is not covered.
  • Treatment for pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage, abortion, etc. are not covered. 

Claim Process of United India Insurance Health Insurance Plans

Both cashless and reimbursement claims are acceptable for United India Insurance Plans.

  • Check if your hospital is part of the network hospitals and offers cashless claims.
  • If treatment is planned, notify the TPA department of the hospital details.
  • If an emergency, notify the TPA immediately after admission.
  • After admission, fill in a pre-authorization request form signed by you and send it to the third-party administrator by the hospital.
  • After discharge from the hospital, pay the remaining amount, if any.
  • Claims for expenses pre and post-hospitalization can be claimed separately after treatment.
  • Submit original copies to TPA department within 7 days of post-hospitalization treatment
  • For reimbursements, sent written notification to TPA department. Send all originals within 7 days of discharge.

A policy should be renewed at least one month before its expiry. The process to renew the policy is very simple:

Documents Required to Buy United India Health Insurance

  • A proposal form and a stamp size photograph for each respective family member or individual must be filled in accurately and supporting identity documents for each member such as PAN card, Aadhar Card, Passport, etc. must be provided.
  • Ensure all personal details such as contact number and email id are accurately filled out.

  • The proposal form must be accurately filled in by the policyholder and signed.
  • In case of renewal, health insurance policies must be renewed online or offline before the expiry date. Any delay post seven days after expiry can lead to the cancellation of the policy.
